The first generation SE-R had one of Nissan's best-ever motors under its hood - the mighty SR20DE 2.0 liter four-banger. 140 hp in stock form in a 2200 pound car. A few bolt-ons and you were up around 160 hp and turning 15 second quarters. All from a front wheel drive car on street tires.
